PA Home Improvement Protection Act
Recent
laws have been passed in the state of
Pennsylvania to protect homeowners from
fly-by-night home improvement contractors. The
Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act became
effective July 1, 2009 and requires all home
improvement contractors who perform at least
$5,000 worth of improvements to register with
the state Attorney General.
A consumer can verify any business by calling
1-888-520-6680 or by visiting
www.attorneygeneral.gov for a list of the
registered contractors. Here you can also find
the specific requirements that home improvement
contractors must provide in their contracts to
perform work.

registered with the Attorney General. Our

4888". This number will now be displayed on all
of our contracts and advertisements.
